If you’ve ever read We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, you’ll know exactly when you’re supposed to join in while watching Channel 4’s TV adaptation.

We can’t go over it, you’ll find yourself saying involuntarily, we can’t go under it.

Michael Rosen’s children’s book has been a family staple since it was first released in 1989, and now has been transformed into a charming animation.

Coming from the makers of The Snowman and the Snowdog, We’re Going on A Bear Hunt has a similarly beautiful visual style, with soft pencil scribbles dancing across the screen.

The plot has been slightly extended from the original story – with a group of siblings their dog Max venturing out to hunt for bears, encountering treacherous terrain on their way.

There are some familiar voices in the cast, with Olivia Colman taking on the role of Mum, and Mark Williams – best known as Harry Potter’s Arthur Weasley – playing Dad. Call the Midwife’s Pam Ferris voices Grandma.

Author Michael Rosen is on hand to provide dialogue for a few characters too – including the Bear itself.

Also involved in the project is singer-songwriter George Ezra, who has written and recorded theme song Me & You for the soundtrack.

Full of rustic charm, gorgeously textured animation, and a heart-warming family story, this is a must-watch for all ages.
