Following the confirmed departure of duo Brooks Way, four-piece girl group Four of Diamonds are set to re-enter the X Factor.

Louis Walsh is bringing back the quartet for the live shows, after they narrowly missed out at Judges’ Houses.

"I was really impressed with the girls at Judges’ Houses but only had three spots to fill for the Live Shows,” Walsh explained.

“At the time a lot of viewers were disappointed that I didn’t put the girls through, now that a place has opened up in my category, I’ve listened to the fans and am delighted to be bringing the girls back.

“They're a great girl group and I'm hoping will take me all the way to the final."

The group consists of 19 year-old Londoner Caroline, 21 year-old Lauren from Surrey, 17 year-old Yasmin from Manchester, and 19 year-old Sophia from Birmingham.

"We are so excited to be back on The X Factor - we’re really looking forward to performing live, working hard and showing everyone what we’re made of,” Four of Diamonds said.

Brooks Way were axed from the series following allegations of abuse from singer Josh Brooks’ ex-girlfriend Amelia Clark.

Brooks has been accused of punching and biting Clark during their four year relationship. He was also allegedly involved in an altercation at a New Year’s Eve party in which the police were called.

Speaking about the incident, Josh previously said: "A fight broke out between me and another male at a party. Amelia, along with others, tried to break it up. She was accidentally knocked in the process.

"It was never my intention to hurt her or put her in danger — and this situation is way out of my character."

Brooks denied the allegations, but said in a statement: "Due to events in my personal life I've decided that it's best not to be on the show at this time. While not everything that has been claimed is true I would like to apologise to everyone involved."

An X Factor spokesperson confirmed the act's departure: "Following the allegations relating to Josh Brooks, we have decided by mutual consent that Brooks Way should leave the competition."
