Strictly Come Dancing’s Darcey Bussell has fuelled speculation of a feud with new head judge Shirley Ballas after appearing to snub her during the results show.

As the panel made their usual entrance, dancing their way onto the stage, Ballas could be seen trying to get Bussell’s attention.

But the former ballerina ignored her new colleague, opting to pose with Craig Revel Horwood instead.

The awkward moment didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, with one tweeting: “Shirley’s AGONY at Darcey ignoring her in the opening judges dance, the plot thickens. #scd”

Others were more preoccupied with the pair’s clashing bright red and pink gowns.

“Why have they dressed Shirley and Darcey so that they clash SO BAD?” asked one.

Despite rumours of tension between the pair swirling since Ballas’ debut on the dancing show, they have repeatedly posted snaps of them enjoying each other’s company backstage.

Former Latin ballroom world champion Ballas hasn’t had the easiest time on the 2017 series after being slammed by viewers for her harsh critiques of contestants performances.

She previously revealed she was forced to block trolls after receiving ‘inappropriate’ messages on social media.

“I’d never done Twitter or Instagram before, but since joining Strictly I do look at comments online and I have a nice following. I like constructive criticism. If I get that I have a think about it, but some can be mean – so I just block them,” she told the Daily Star.

“If they’re awfully mean, that’s what I do. Some people are inappropriate. I don’t want to say what they say. I won’t go there. But some people are just inappropriate. People make an effort to watch the show and then go online. So I like to respond in some way.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday, December 9 at 6.45pm on BBC One.
