Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly furious after the winner of this year’s Christmas special leaked online weeks before the show is due to air.

The winner of the festive episode, which sees celebrities from previous years return to dance again, was published by a fan who runs a blog about the BBC ballroom show.

He wrote that the leak had come from a member of the audience at the pre-recorded show.

"I'm doing this because thousands of people want me to.This spoiler has come from an audience mole from a group who have previously provided accurate spoilers and should be accurate," the fan commented.

Taking part in the episode this year are Jeremy Vine and Karen Clifton, Katie Derham and Brendan Cole, Colin Jackson and Amy Dowden, Robbie Savage and Diane Buswell, Judy Murray and Neil Jones, and Kimberley Walsh and Pasha Kovalev.

The blog that published the leak also reveals who has exited the dancing competition each week as the Sunday night results shows are pre-recorded directly after the Saturday live programme.

The fan has faced criticism in the past for his leaks but has hit back saying those against them should blame the BBC for prerecording the show.

“It is the BBC who make the spoiler possible. If they don’t want the result to leak there is something very simple they can do to stop it – broadcast it live,” he said in one post.

Standard Online has chosen not to include the name of the winner in this piece so as to keep the surprise for viewers.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday, December 2 at 7.05pm on BBC One.
