Strictly line-up 2019: Michelle Visage, Jamie Laing and the other confirmed contestants so far

If you hadn't noticed from all the announcements - Strictly Come Dancing is due for a triumphant return to our screens.

A whole host of celebrities have been confirmed for the line-up, and will be battling it out on the dancefloor to get their hands on the glitterball trophy.

Here are all the contestants that have been announced for this year's Strictly so far:

Barker has more than two million subscribers on her YouTube channel, where she posts about beauty and lifestyle. She is the second vlogger to feature on the show, after Joe Sugg reached the Strictly final last year.

“I am really excited to go on the Strictly journey and am feeling very grateful for the opportunity!” she said.

“I’m looking forward to learning all of the dances, finding out who my partner is, getting to wear the costumes and to just experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Discussing the announcement with former Strictly contestant Ashley Roberts on Heart Breakfast, Barker said that she wants to be paired with “a partner that pushes me and works hard.”

“To be honest I think they’re probably gonna be sick of me because I’m not going to want to leave the training room,” she added.

She revealed that she was “excited” to follow in Sugg’s footsteps on the show and admitted that she has “a lot to live up to” after his success in last year’s contest.

Alex Scott

It’s not the first time this former England football star has been on the dancefloor – Alex danced her way to the finish line when she won the Strictly Comic Relief special with partner Pasha Kovalev in 2018.

A proven winner, Alex will no doubt be hoping for similar results this time round.

“This is a show that I’ve always wanted to be a part of,” Scott admitted. “When I did [Comic Relief], I was like ‘I want to be part of the main one.’

“I’m super excited, but also excited at the same time,” she added.

Jamie Laing

Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing was confirmed for the show on Monday.

Speaking about his new dancing gig on Loose Women, he said: “I think I’ve got a little bit of rhythm. We’re going to find out.

Michelle Visage

Best known for her role as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, this time Michelle will be on the other side of the panel.

The news was announced on Lorraine This Morning, where Michelle shared her excitement.

“Getting to do Strictly in my favourite place on Earth is an actual DREAM! I’m so excited to show that being 50 doesn’t mean life stops,” she said.

“Things may not work like they did when I was 20, but 50 also means FABULOUS!”

Will Bayley

World table tennis Paralympic champion Will Bayley was the 10th Strictly contestant to be revealed.

He said: “I’m so proud to be on the show, it’s my family’s favourite show.”

“I have no dance experience at all, but I hope I can do well. I want to inspire people with a disability – that would mean a lot to me. I want to prove to people I can do this.”

Emma Thynn, Viscountess of Weymouth

Also putting her dancing skills to the test is chef and model Emma Thynn, Viscountess of Weymouth.

Viscountess Weymouth – who married Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth, in 2013 – is also a contributing editor for British Vogue and runs Longleat Safari Park with her family.

She told BBC Radio London host Gaby Roslin: “It’s so, so exciting, it’s such an institution.

“I absolutely love watching Strictly every weekend and I can’t believe that I’m getting the chance to be on this series.

“I know it will be such an amazing experience from start to finish. I can’t wait for the dancing and the fabulous outfits.”

Karim Zeroual

CBBC presenter Karim has also been confirmed for the Strictly line-up.

“To be offered the chance to take part in Strictly is dumbfounding, I’m pinching myself!” he said.

“I’m so excited to be Strictlified. I want THE LOT. The skimpiest of clothes, the wildest of flares, the brightest of colours and the tallest Cuban heel a guy can find! The more flamboyant the better…sequins galore please!”

Mike Bushell

BBC Sports presenter Mike Bushell was confirmed for Strictly on August 2, making him the sixth contestant to join the line-up.

Speaking about taking part, he said: “It feels like a weird dream. I am flying the flag for dad dancers.”

He added: “I will try not to fall over. I am not underestimating the physical task. I feel sorry for who I am coupled up with!”

Catherine Tyldesley

Former Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley will also be making a bid for the glitterball trophy.

Catherine, who played barmaid Eva Price on the ITV soap from 2011-2018, said on This Morning: “I literally can’t dance, I love to dance on a night out if I’ve had a couple of drinks and me and Alfie (her son) silly dance in the kitchen, but that’s it, I’m terrified.”

David James

James said in an official statement: "I'm really excited to be on Strictly this year. Not just competing against this year's stars, but being compared to previous sport stars from previous Strictly seasons. I have some big shoes to fill, #LetsGetLive."

Chris Ramsey

Comedian Ramsey said he was "really buzzing" about the opportunity.

He joked that he had struggled to keep it a secret and had told a few friends he was taking part.

Ramsey said he was "both excited and absolutely terrified".

He said: "You will not find me on the dance floor at parties, you will find me at the buffet table. All night. At my wedding I danced with my wife; that one song took about six months practice, and I definitely stood on her feet a couple of times.

"So I'm looking forward to the possibility of making a fool of myself in front of millions of people ... there better be a buffet after the live shows."

Emma Barton

Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell in EastEnders, said she was a Strictly super fan and that she was "over the moon" when she received the call to appear on the show.

She said she was "whipping off Honey's 'Minute Mart' tabard and diving right in to all the glitter and sparkle". "From Albert Square to the Strictly dance floor - I just can't wait!" she said.

This year's series will see the return of judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli while Motsi Mabuse, sister of Strictly professional Oti, will replace Dame Darcey Bussell on the panel.

Motsi was previously a dancer and then judge on the German Strictly equivalent Let's Dance.

The series, hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, also has a new face in the form of Latin dancer Nancy Xu who joins the professionals line-up.

Xu was a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance? in her home country of China and performed in hit West End and Broadway show Burn The Floor.

She takes over from Strictly professional Pasha Kovalev, who announced his departure from the show earlier this year, telling fans it was "time for me to find a new challenge".

Bookies have sent odds on speculative contestants including names like Sam Allardyce, Jodie Comer, Una Healy, Michelle Visage and Chris Evans.

Radio DJ Evans revealed last year that he had spoken to Strictly show bosses but more recent reports have suggested he may not be among this year's line-up.
