Probably still the greatest literary talent that the world has ever known, William Shakespeare is back in the spotlight on the 400th anniversary of his death.

Of the many celebratory TV specials planned, Shakespeare Live! From the RSC is perhaps the most star-studded, with stage and screen actors uniting for a night of performances.

Taking place at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Statford-upon-Avon, the event will see David Tennant joined by the likes of Judi Dench and Ian McKellen.

It’s not just acting talent who are involved – comedian Tim Minchin, musician Rufus Wainwright and rapper Akala are also taking part in the night, along with the Royal Ballet and the Orchestra of the Swan.

The huge variety of guests will be sharing their thoughts on Shakespeare’s works, offering their reflections on Shakespeare’s hugely influential works – which have rippled out across the worlds of film, music, and live performance.
