Sarah Harding has opened up about her rumoured feud with former Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl, saying that they were “like sisters” but “nothing lasts forever”.

In scenes to be aired in Friday’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, Harding chatted to fellow housemate Jemma Lucy about her history with Cheryl.

The pair were initially discussing the Harding's height, when the singer commented: “I looked like a giant next to Cheryl. She’s like a Polly Pocket, very very petite.”

Lucy seized the opportunity to press Harding on the rumours that have circulated since the bands split about a rift between her and Cheryl.

She asked: “Did you fall out?” to which Harding responded: “It’s not for me to say.”

The 29-year-old took this as confirmation, commenting: “So, yeah.”

Harding demurred, saying: “It’s not for me to say, I don’t really like talking about the other girls if it’s a personal thing.”

Later she added: “We were like sisters, so of course it was never going to be plain-sailing the whole time, being around girls all the time it’s difficult sometimes.

“You’re going to fall out and get on each other’s nerves, it happens to all bands,” Lucy responded.

Despite her comments, Harding left the door open for the pair to resume their friendship, ending the chat on a conciliatory note.

“Even if we had fell out I’m sure it wouldn’t be a major deal in the future,” she said.

The 37-year-old was less forgiving at the launch night show as she took a swipe at her former bandmates telling presenter Emma Willis: I don't like confrontation, I’ve been in a girl band and I don’t like it.”

Earlier in the week she explained in an emotional diary room confession that she was "sick of being judged on the past" and said she hoped her time in the house would "show people who I've grown into".

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
