The National Television Awards shortlist has finally been unveiled and Bodyguard, Doctor Who and Killing Eve are all up for prizes.

Following Bodyguard star Richard Madden’s Golden Globes success on Sunday evening, he has been nominated for Drama Performance, battling it out against Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer, Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy, Doctor Who actress Jodie Whittaker and Michelle Keegan’s Our Girl.

The gripping show is also up for another nomination in new category, New Drama, alongside Killing Eve, A Discovery of Witches, Girlfriends and The Cry.

National favourites Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are up for the TV presenter category having won the gong for 17 years in a row.

The nomination comes after a difficult year for the popular duo. McPartlin’s only presenting gig of 2018 was his appearance on Saturday Night Takeaway, but he was forced to miss the finale after a drink-driving incident and stint in rehab last year.

Donnelly was also forced to host I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here without McPartlin for the first time and was joined by This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby for his stint in Australia.

Willoughby will be battling it out against the presenting duo and her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield for the award.

The TV judge category sees newcomer X Factor judge Ayda Field snubbed with husband Robbie Williams up for the gong alongside Louis Tomlinson and Simon Cowell, who she shared the panel with last year.

Also up for nominations include Love Island, Gogglebox and Strictly Come Dancing across the categories.

The National Television Awards take place on 22 January at the London O2.
