Love Island: Dr Alex strips for the ladies in saucy challenge as Laura confronts Georgia over Jack 'kiss'

After falling from grace as the nation’s sweetheart, Dr Alex proved we were all right to deem him “cringe” earlier in the week as he stripped, yes stripped, for the uncomfortable looking girls.

The Love Island ladies had to tell their faces to smile as the Dr shed his clothes and showed off his bright red skin.

No, this isn’t Alex’s new flirting technique. This was Friday night’s challenge - and it’s lucky we have a day to get over it.

After tensions reached boiling point with Georgia, Ellie, Laura and Dani all yelling at one another, the islanders had to take part in a battle of the sexes dance-off, aiming to raise the heart rates of each other.

And Alex showed us what he’s made of as he wriggled in a white shirt and baggy black binliner-like pants, complete with a dickie bow around his neck.

Afterwards, he declared to the Beach Hut: “That is the first and last time you’ll ever see Dr Alex stripping, that’s for sure.”

Well, that is a relief.

Although, as a side note, the medic did claw back some public support as he stood up to Ellie for getting involved in the villa drama. Which moves us nicely on....

Desperate to get to the bottom of what happened on Georgia and Jack’s date (it’s a shame she can’t watch the show..), Laura made it her mission to confront who she now sees as her nemesis and ask straight up.

Somewhat snappy sounding, Laura said: “Taking out your best mate’s guy, telling me that it was purely because he made you laugh, then all of a sudden you fancy him, you’ve got a connection and you’re trying to kiss him. Now you’re denying trying to kiss him calling him a liar?” to which Georgia decided it was the perfect time to get Jack involved.

Aware of all this, Ellie went to the Beach Hut to question Georgia’s “loyalties” with the wonderful line: “You’re only as loyal as your actions are. Just by saying you’re loyal twenty times a day, doesn’t make you loyal.”

The next morning, Ellie started to retreat from the situation, deflecting all the drama onto Laura, who appears to be in the process of getting binned off again.

Determined not to let this happen again, Laura had a chat with her man about why he never comforted her in the midst of all the drama.

And then Jack said perhaps the worst thing he could have said, with: “I’m sorry that I didn’t console and make you feel like everything is okay, but I thought everything was okay.”

Will they whether the storm? We’re not sure. But are we living for it? Yes, yes we are.

Love Island continues Sunday at 9pm on ITV2.
