Love Island couples: Who are the new couples? Who has been dumped? Who has been left single?

Last night’s recoupling saw more than a few islanders get mugged off

Monday night’s Love Island recoupling saw several couples torn apart and more than a few islanders left single, some of whom viewers are adamant they have never seen before.

In true Love Island style it couldn’t be a recoupling without a few of the islanders being mugged off by the people they were wildly infatuated by.

Emotions ran high as loyalties were put to the test, resulting in a number of meme-worthy faces being pulled throughout the evening.

Here are the new couples (and singles):

Megan Barton Hanson and Alex Miller

After getting bored of Eyal out of the blue and setting her sights on splitting up one of the stronger couples in the house, Laura and Wes, Megan stayed true to her “muggy” title in last night’s recoupling.

While Wes was pining for Megan in Casa Amor, Muggy Megan was more than happy to crack on with Alex, Dean and Frankie.

She previously said she was sure Wes would have returned with another girl adamant that their one day together was less than significant.

Nonetheless, Alex came out on top in the battle for Megan’s affections.

Adam Collard and Darylle Sargeant

After insisting that he would never be able to find someone quite like dumped islander Zara McDemott and being adamant that they had something special it comes as a shock that it took Adam a whole five minutes to move on to a new girl.

New arrival tatted Darylle is hoping the fourth time is a charm (it probably isn’t).

Adam earned himself more than a couple of disgusted looks after telling host Caroline Flack that he would’ve still coupled up with Darylle even if Zara had been in the villa.

Laura Anderson and Jack Fowler

After a brutal fight with Wes that saw him get into bed with Megan right in front of Laura, unsurprisingly she chose to enter a new couple.

Optimistic at a fresh chance at romance, Laura coupled up with footballer Jack Fowler.

Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster

Despite gushing over how great their names sounded together Samira decided to flee from “The Bird” and give romance a new chance with newbie Frankie Foster.

Although Frankie’s eyes were initially set on Megan, once she made it clear she wasn’t interested he turned his focus to Samira.

But is being mugged off by your first choice enough motivation to try and make it work with someone new?

Sam Bird and Ellie Jones

Sam’s sights were swayed when new girl Ellie Jones entered Casa Amor, despite making it very apparent that she was still keen on ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham.

In an entry that caused more than a little tension, is new girl Ellie finally ready to move on or is she gearing up to stir up trouble for sweethearts Dani and Jack?

Ellie Brown and Charlie Brake

Ellie was just a little excited at the revelation of new boys entering the villa after things turned sour with Dr Love, Alex.

With eyes- and lips- firmly planted on new arrival Charlie, Ellie expressed optimism for the couples’ future.

Dr Alex George and Grace Wardle

Dr Love found himself in an usual predicament where he had two girls with eyes only for him.

However, after going back and forth between the two Alex settled on Grade Wardle during the recoupling.

Love Island’s resident sweethearts Dani and Jack melted hearts across the nation as they pined for one another during their time apart.

Sunday night saw Dani break down, and Ofcom bombarded, after seeing a video of Jack’s ex Ellie walk through the doors.

However, relief washed over the pair’s faces when they were reunited at the recoupling.

Josh Denzel and Kazimir Crossley

Josh might have just purchased himself a one-way ticket in to the muggy club alongside Megan after last night’s recoupling.

After baring heart and soul to Georgia, Josh decided that he may have found something better with new girl Kaz leaving his former flame stood at the recoupling altar alone.

Who’s single?

Georgia Steel

Earning herself the support of the nation thanks to her composed reaction to Josh’s entry with Kaz, Georgia became one of two single islanders after pledging loyalty to her former flame.

Karma really does come around and sometimes a lot faster than planned as Wes found out in last night’s recoupling.

Wes returned to the villa in anticipation of Megan who he met face-to-face in the arms of a new man alongside ex Laura who had also cracked on.

Who was dumped?

Dean Overson, Jordan Adefeyisan, Charlie Williams and Savanna Darnell failed to sweep any of the original islanders off the feet which left them packing their bags after only a few days on the island.

Love Island continues Monday at 9pm on ITV2.
