Lorraine Kelly choked back tears as she watched scenes from the funeral of one of the victims of the Manchester terror attack.

Kelly, 57, struggled to compose herself while talking about 14-year-old Eilidh MacLeod who was laid to rest on Monday on the Scottish island of Barra in the Outer Hebrides.

Speaking on her ITV morning show, Kelly said: “Funerals have now begun to take place for the victims of the Manchester bombing. Yesterday, family and friends of Eilidh MacLeod have laid her to rest on Barra.

“The 14-year-old was taken from her home to Our Lady Star of the Sea in Castlebay for the service and her favourite Ariana Grande song was played.”

Kelly fought back tears as she tried to continue: “Breaks your heart, breaks your heart, it really would.”

She then apologised to viewers for getting emotional and attempted to continue by telling viewers about what was coming up on today’s show before cutting to an ad break.

Twenty-two people were killed and dozens injured when suicide bomber Salman Abedi detonated an explosive at Ariana Grande’s Manchester MEN Arena gig on May 22.

Reid was overcome with emotion as she spoke with Charlotte Campbell, who made a heartbreaking plea for information on her missing daughter Olivia. The 15-year-old was later confirmed to be among those who lost their lives.

Grande returned to Manchester on Sunday for the One Love benefit concert to raise money for the victims and families affected by the devastating attack.

Thousands of fans sang along to acts including Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, as well as Liam Gallagher who made a surprise appearance.

A peak audience of 14.5 million people tuned in to watch the concert which was aired live on BBC One and streamed globally online.

A total of £2 million was donated during the three-hour event which Grande wrapped up with a rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

The moving footage was captured and shared online by Grande's manager Scooter Braun.
