Lily Allen has waded into the controversy surrounding Honey G, saying the X Factor contestant is “offensive”.

Allen said the aspiring rap artist – real name Anna Glifford – is “so wrong on so many levels”.

Speaking to Annie Mac on BBC Radio One she said: “As far as I can tell she is a white lady that dresses up in Ali G, Goldie Lookin Chain kind of attire.

“She has done really well on X Factor and ITV is piling loads of money into her.”

Allen – who was accused of appropriation over her music video for Hard Out Here – added: “I’m not black but I find it offensive. So wrong on so many levels, I can’t even start to talk about it.”

The Smile singer’s comments come days after Professor Green lambasted the X Factor star.

Green – real name Stephen Manderson – accused her of “taking the mickey” out of rap.

Speaking to Rylan Clark-Neal and Matt Edmondson on the Xtra Factor he said: “I don’t feel she should be in the competition.

“I feel like she’s taking the right mickey out of rap and I feel like it’s a bit of an injustice.'

“It’s an entertainment show but music is at the core of it, come on.”
