Kit Harington made a rude gaffe while discussing his proposal to fiancée Rose Leslie on The Jonathan Ross Show.

The Game of Thrones actor told host Ross and the other guests that he ‘blew his load too early’ while explaining that he had 'popped the question' a day before he had originally intended to.

“I did have some plans to do it, I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff but we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine and I blew my load early. Sorry that’s a really bad expression!” he laughed.

“I was meant to do it the day after with the lights. What I meant to say was, I popped my question a bit early. Not blew my load.”

Harington and his former Game of Thrones co-star became engaged last month after five years of dating, and announced the news with a notice in The Times newspaper.

The actor, who plays Jon Snow in the hit HBO series, also chatted about how he’d asked for the the show's filming schedules to take into account his upcoming nuptials.

“I rang [the producer] up and I said, ‘I’m getting married and it’s your fault actually’... I was like, ‘You need to factor in a Game of Thrones wedding by the way.’ They [The cast] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down.”

Despite his hints that the whole cast of the show will be invited, Harington firmly shut down the idea of a Game of Thrones-themed wedding when asked.

“No. There is absolutely no chance of me convincing [Leslie] of that.”

Also appearing on the chat show this week are Liv Tyler, Mary J Blige, Sue Perkins, Rob Beckett and Dua Lipa.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday, October 7 at 9.45pm on ITV.
