Kem and Amber have been crowned champions of Love Island 2017, with the Essex lad choosing to share the £50,000 prize with his partner. Both were shocked at their victory, with Kem commenting: "My head's gone!"

After it had been announced that the pair had come top in the public vote, they still had one last challenge to navigate: should they split the prize money or steal?

Once each of them had selected an envelope, it was revealed Kem's contained the £50,000, which meant it was up to him to decide whether to steal the cash or share it with Amber.

He chose to share, meaning that all of the show's winning couples have so far opted to halve the prize with each other.

Just missing out on the crown were Jamie and Camilla, while in third place were Chris and Olivia, and finishing up in fourth were Gabby and Marcel.

Amber and Kem certainly had their fair share of ups and downs during their time in the villa. At first the Welsh lass wasn’t too popular with fans, who slated her ‘snakey’ behaviour, but after the loved up duo got back on track, she managed to win over the public.

Kem’s rapping skills and quirky sense of humour have meant he’s been a popular contestant throughout the series and his chats with best friend Chris have provided some of the most entertaining moments.

So much so that, as he was deciding whether to share the prize money with Amber, a member of the audience shouted: "Split it with Chris," causing much laughter.

Meanwhile, just missing out on the top spot were fan favourite Camilla and her partner Jamie.

With her gentle Scottish lilt, determination to move slowly with her love interests, and firm feminist stance, Camilla all but secured herself national treasure status during the show's seven weeks.

She had a torrid time in the villa thanks to ex-partner Jonny and the speedily-dispatched creepy Craig, but met her match in Calvin Klein model Jamie.

Coming in third were Olivia and Chris - probably the most troubled couple in the villa.

First there was Sam’s angry explosion after the Motorsport Grid Girl ‘pied him off’, then there was muggy Mike, followed by Stormzy’s controversial tweet, topped off by that awkward lie-detector test.

But somehow, against all the odds, the duo battled through and made it through to the final in one piece.

Ex-Blazin’ Squad member Marcel and his partner Gabby came last of all the couples, in fourth place. The pair seemed like the perfect match when Scouse lass Gabby first arrived in the villa, but hit a major bump in the road thanks to Marcel kissing another girl in Casa Amor and Gabby’s disastrous lie detector test.

And though they've since patched things up, Gabby struggled to recover her place in the public’s affections, which may have contributed to them missing out on a spot in the top three.

The show’s third series has been the most popular yet, with some episodes hitting ratings highs of 3 million across platforms.

Show bosses have confirmed that the programme will be returning for a fourth series in 2018, with applications for the next crop of contestants open now.

Love Island returns to ITV2 in summer 2018.
