Hopkins said Best deserved an Oscar for his reaction

Celebrity Big Brother was accused of being a “fix” after Katie Hopkins claimed Calum Best was aware that his mother would join him in the famous house.

The controversial radio presenter – who provided a running commentary of the launch night – said Calum put on an Oscar winning performance when Angie Best entered.

Hopkins, 41, claimed Calum would have been aware of his mother’s involvement when the contestants were housed at the studios in the hours leading up to the live launch.

She tweeted: “As the Oscar for best male pretending not to have just stayed with his mum for 12 hours in The Village, Elstree goes to..... #CBBUK #CBB.”

Calum looked shocked when he saw his mother walk through the doors. The model and TV star was watching on a screen from a secret room where he was joined by the ‘All Stars’ to spy on the ‘New Stars’.

“Is that my mum? Oh my God, it's my mother,” he said. “Get the f*** out of here.”

One viewer was unconvinced by his reaction and tweeted: “So Callum Best REALLY wants us to believe he didn't know his mum was there? Complete fix. #CBB.”

Another posted: “There was no way he didn’t knew about it, come on.”

The All Stars were tasked with playing producers and deciding which of the first time contestants should be "edited out" for being the least entertaining.

They chose US singer Stacy Francis after former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan argued that “she’s going to kick off more when she’s edited out.”

Francis was told she would not receive her possessions and would have to wear a beige tracksuit until further notice. She was then made to sit out in the garden while the rest of the housemates partied inside.

The decision sparked controversy online with some claiming Francis was chosen in an attempt to turn her into an ‘angry black woman’ stereotype.
