Kate Silverton completely transformed into a very sultry Jessica Rabbit for this week’s Strictly Come Dancing, which saw Faye Tozer top the leaderboard.

The BBC newsreader fully embraced Movie Week as she donned a slinky red dress and long red wig to embody the iconic cartoon character from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? for her Foxtrot.

Despite a slight stumble at the beginning of the routine, Silverton impressed the judges and earned a ’29’, admitting that it was the first time in her life that she’d had long hair.

Steps star Tozer earned four ‘nines’ from the judges thanks to her turn as Sandy from Grease for her Quickstep, described by Shirley Ballas as “electrifying”.

Vick Hope was first up, dancing the Salsa to Take a Chance on Me from Mamma Mia, which was dubbed “absolutely amazing” by Shirley Ballas.

Although Craig Revel Horwood dubbed the lifts in the dance “spectacular” he only gave them a six, meaning that she earned a 27 overall.

Dr Ranj Sing and Janette’s Quickstep to Prince Ali from Aladdin didn’t get rave reviews from the panel, earning a measly 20 points, with Lee Ryan not faring much better.

After finding themselves in the dance-off last week, the Blue star pulled out all the stops with his Back to the Future-themed Cha Cha Cha, which Revel Horwood called “mincing around the stage”.

Stacey Dooley dressed head-to-toe as a yellow minion for her dance and earned an impressive 32, while Graeme Swann dressed as Spiderman for his routine, bagging a 31.

Sean Walsh danced the Paso Doble to the Matrix theme, as you do, which was described as “slick”, with Ballas saying they had “nailed it”.
