James Corden will not co-host the Saturday Night Takeaway finale with Declan Donnelly when it airs live from Florida next month.

The final show of the series will be broadcast from Universal Orlando Resort on April 7, despite Ant McPartlin's recent return to rehab.

McPartlin took the decision to seek treatment after being charged with drink-driving last week, with Donnelly soon confirming that he would fly solo for the remaining Saturday Night Takeaway shows.

But the Daily Star reported that Late Late Show host Corden, who is a friend of the duo, could make the journey from Los Angeles to Florida to co-host the finale.

A source told the publication: “Dec has got a big job on his hands fronting a live show from the States all on his own.

“Although he will have fellow show stars Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Mulhern there to assist, the producers want to add some sparkle with some big Tinseltown names.

“We’re confident everyone will jump on board as it’s such a popular family show.”

Popular star Corden featured in the show earlier in the series as he took up the role of guest announcer.

But now he is reportedly on the wanted list for the final episode - alongside Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis.

The report has since been denied, with Donnelly's representative re-confirming the Geordie TV star will present alone.

The show, which was off-air last week, will return this Saturday with guests Stephen Merchant and Paloma Faith.
