On taking over the role, the actress explained: “I grew up playing the game actually and saw Angelina Jolie up on the screen. It meant a huge amount back then to finally see a woman lead that kind of action film.”

Vikander also confessed that her Oscar statuette from her The Danish Girl Best Support Actress gong is still being fostered over in Los Angeles.

She recounted: “I had it [the statuette] that night. It’s been quite known now, I’ve been travelling and working so much these past few years and I’ve been renovating my house

“My friend in LA her daughter has it in her room. She sends me updates."
