I’m A Celebrity camp mates have been told to be more hygienic following an outbreak of fungal complaints.

Resident medic Dr Bob revealed that there is a problem with “fungus” and that he has been instructing the celebrities on how to keep it at bay.

Speaking on spin-off show Extra Camp he said: “Most people think of fungus as mushrooms but we have problems with the cast every year – especially women growing fungus on certain body parts.”

Host Joe Swash quipped: “Now, when Bob says certain body parts, we all know what he means! So is this a hygiene thing then?”

Dr Bob continued: “It’s a hygiene thing. Even though they’re quite healthy I have been instructing them to use the shower and personal hygiene a little bit more often.”

Swash joked: “Well, they’re a filthy lot down there Bob.”

Personal health hasn’t been the only concern for this year’s campers.

A poisonous black snake made its way into the jungle camp on Monday night.

The reptile was found underneath Joel Dommett’s bed and removed by a ranger as he slept.

Unaware of the commotion, Dommett later said in the Bush Telegraph: “Slept very well last night, all the way through.”

I'm A Celebrity is on ITV tonight at 9pm.
