Does it already feel like a lifetime since Nadiya Hussain took the top prize on the Great British Bake Off 2015?
You’re in luck – there’s a whole new Bake Off spin-off series coming in 2016, and it’s set to focus entirely on the world of pastry.
Bake Off: Creme de la Creme will “showcase and celebrate the elite from the world of professional pastry”, in a move away from the amateur contestants in the main show.
The series will consist of eight episodes, produced by the company behind Bake Off, Love Productions, and will air on BBC Two.
The presenter and judging duo have been announced too. Tom Kerridge, who has previously starred on MasterChef and the Great British Menu, will be presenting the show.

The judges will be Benoit Blin, executive pastry chef at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Cherish Finden, executive pastry chef at The Langham, and prestigious pastry chef Claire Clark.
Will it prove a more enticing watch than The Great British Pottery Throw-Down and the Great British Sewing Bee? Don’t bet against the power of Bake Off.
