Felicity Jones is back on the big screen in the latest Star Wars film – and she says it was tough to keep the instalment’s secrets.

Titled Rogue One, the film is the first spin-off from the main Star Wars franchise and follows the events leading up to the original 1977 movie.

“It was quite a burden for two years,” she told Graham Norton of keeping the plot under wraps.

“When the whole cast watched the film a couple of weeks ago there was a feeling of collective relief that at some point we would actually be able to talk about it.

“My friends would ask me what was happening in the film and I really wanted to tell them but had to keep my mouth shut!”

The actress teased that the film includes some major surprises and references to the original trilogy that fans will love.

“There are lots of references to old characters and other movies that people get very excited about,” she hinted - with teaser trailers already revealing that Darth Vader appears in the film.
