Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell has finally addressed the series of scandals surrounding this year’s show.

The former ballerina opened up on the controversies surrounding the BBC ballroom competition, including the Strictly curse - which struck Katya Jones and Seann Walsh - Ashley Roberts’ dance experience and claims of “under marking” contestants.

Discussing the upcoming final on The Graham Norton Show, Bussell said: “There's probably no more than there usually is. It's just unusual for people to be so tactile and not to think you are coming on to them - it's the job and dancers are used to it but perhaps other people get the wrong idea."

Asked what tips she might give a married person taking part in the next series, she added: "I'm only there to judge!”

Bussell’s comments come after Jones and Walsh shocked fans, after they were spotted kissing on a break from rehearsals, despite both being in relationships.

However, the couple have appeared to put the drama behind them as they put on a united front during a night out last month.

Katya, who looked stunning in a red gown, wrapped her arms around Neil as she planted a kiss on his cheek, as they stepped out to support the Macmillan Cancer Support Winter Gala.

Neil has yet to address his wife’s kiss with Walsh. The pair were pictured hugging and kissing on a night out in central London last month, sparking calls for them to be removed from the BBC ballroom show.

Both parties apologised on It Takes Two, deeming the kiss a “one-off drunken mistake”.

They were later voted out of the competition after failing to impress with their Viennese Waltz.
