Jermaine Pennant was branded “mad” by fellow Celebrity Big Brother housemate Gabby Allen after she spotted him wearing his wedding ring hours after Chloe Ayling had been evicted.

Pennant, 35, had sent Ayling love notes and shared a bed with her during their time in the Borehamwood bungalow, but omitted the fact he is a married man, instead telling her he was in a fledgling relationship that was “f****** over”.

Allen asked: “What’s that on your hand?”

Pennant replied: “For live evictions but it will come off now. When I go in my room it’s coming off. I won’t wear it again.

“When I’m at home I never wear it in the house ever. When I wake up I don’t go to put it on.”

Clearly confused, Allen replied: “You’re actually mad.”

Ayling branded Pennant “disgusting” after learning that he is married to Alice Goodwin. Host Emma Willis broke the news to the model who had been under the impression he was in a relationship that was “f****** over” during their time in the house.

“I don’t even know what to say to that,” she told Willis. “That’s just disgusting, to be married and crack on with someone on TV when you’re wife is going to see that.”

She said she feels the ex-Liverpool player led her on and that she would say sorry to his wife.

“I would apologise,” Ayling told Metro. “But then I’d have to say that I can only go by what he’s told me and I know nothing else.

“I’m sorry this has happened but then it’s his problem and I don’t think he’s worth it at all if he’d publicly do that in front of your wife watching at home.”

Celebrity Big Brother is on Channel 5, tonight at 9pm
