Bodyguard final predicted by Phoenix the ‘psychic’ cat on Lorraine

It’s all getting a bit tense

Things got a bit tense on Friday morning’s Lorraine as Phoenix the “psychic” cat attempted to predict the outcome of Bodyguard.

With the nation on edge ahead of the final episode on Sunday, Lorraine Kelly invited the special feline guest onto the show in a bid to ease tensions after it correctly 'predicted' that Christine Lampard would have a baby girl.

Phoenix was presented with two bowls, one with devil ears predicting that Richard Madden’s David Budd killed Julia Montague, played by Keeley Hawes, and the other declaring him innocent.

Without hesitation Phoenix predicted that the private protection officer is indeed a good guy.

Mercurio, 52, revealed he has been savagely dropping misleading hints about how the show ends in a bid to make sure viewers are surprised.

“I don’t really feel a great responsibility to tell the truth, so it doesn’t really matter what I say,” he told The Sun.

“I tell the truth where it’s the ethical thing to do, but in terms of entertainment there’s a certain fun and a certain enjoyment that can be added to the experience by a few judicious lies.

“Yeah, I’ve lied before about Keeley [Hawes, who plays Julia] and it may well be I will lie again.”

Naturally the suspense is eating up fans of the show, with many declaring Mercurio a “tease”.
