It’s been less than 24 hours – but it’s already kicking off in the Big Brother house.

People’s Housemate Tom Barber, who was voted into the famous TV bungalow by the viewers, was tasked with stripping half of the house of their citizenship and putting them up for the first eviction.

The 21-year-old Welshman was called to Big Brother’s Intelligence Centre where he was told to pick eight housemates, who would also be exiled to an inferior life in the house.

In a Big Brother first, Tom was allowed to get help from the public to make his decision via a Facebook Live with the outside world.

But his decision riled up his housemates just hours into their first night.

He chose Rebecca Jane because the public advised him not to grant her citizenship, Sukhvinder Javeed, who he split from her husband Imran, and Chanelle McLeary who kicked off.

After explaining that she is “loud and annoying” she screamed in his face.

The citizens were later allowed to enter the bedroom labelled Rose Cottage, while exiled housemates were banished to the Thorn Cottage bedroom.

Sukhvinder struggled to deal with Tom’s decision, telling Big Brother: “I can’t believe I’m in this house, you know what there’s people in this house that I don’t like, they are rude.

“It’s just a different environment. Some people are really nice.”

Arthur Fulford caused tensions with his housemates after he jumped into the hot tub before stripping off one of the mannequins.

The former Life Is Toff star said he is conscious of being shown in a bad light, telling Joe Quaranta: “I was worried about letting people down, my family cringing…”

Big Brother is on Channel 5 tonight at 10pm.
