'My breasts are not as pointy as the first Lara': Alicia Vikander admits she was worried about her body shape for Tomb Raider

Alicia Vikander has admitted that she worried that her breast shape would stop her from being a good Lara Croft.

The Swedish star is taking over from Angelina Jolie as the Tomb Raider star, after she portrayed the fierce female character from 2001 to 2003.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Vikander admitted that she was worried she didn’t embody every physical aspect of Lara Croft but knew how she wanted to act as her.

She told the show: “My breasts are not as pointy as the first Lara, but I had a clear vision of how I wanted to play her.

“I was a huge fan as a kid and whilst I was too scared to play the games when I was 10, I learnt all her moves.”

Quizzed on training up for the role, The Light Between Oceans actress explained: “It took about four months to get in shape and I had never lifted a thing with my arms before – I did ballet – and the trainer told me I was really underdeveloped.

“I thought the muscles would stay forever, but after three weeks of no training I lost it all.”

The 29-year-old also revealed that she left her Oscar for The Danish Girl in LA because it was “too heavy to bring home”.

She laughed: “I only had one night with him. I decided he was too heavy to bring home in my hand luggage so my friend’s daughter has him in her bedroom.

“I get updates with photos on what he’s up to. I’ve been on the move for some time but I am going to get him soon and bring him home.”

Also on Friday’s show was I Tonya actress and recently nominated Margot Robbie, along with her co-star Allison Janney, who also received her first ever Oscar nod earlier this year.

Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya also joined the show to talk about his nomination and his “life-changing year” while there was music from Camila Cabello.
