Harry Potter and the Cursed Child theatre tickets in London

This magical show has audiences and critics alike under its spell
1/12

Only a wizard of the highest order could magic up a clean sweep of five-star reviews across the board. No easy feat - unless that wizard is Harry Potter.

This epic two-parter, written by Jack Thorne in collaboration with JK Rowling and directed by John Tiffany, is a genuinely magical experience. Picking up where the books left off, Harry’s son Albus is off to Hogwarts where he makes an unlikely new pal: Scorpius Malfoy, son of Draco.

For fans of the books, there are endless treats in store and lots of genuinely shocking moments (which is why audience should obey Rowling’s request to #KeepTheSecrets). If you’ve never picked up a Potter book in your life, it’s still a captivating experience that will leave you on the edge of your seat and asking ‘how on earth did they DO that?’

The original cast are now off on their broomsticks for the Broadway production, and it’s set to open in Melbourne in 2019. It doesn’t look like the London show is going anywhere, though. The Palace Theatre had a gorgeous renovation for the show’s London opening and last year it became the most awarded production in West End history when it won nine Olivier Awards. Tickets are harder to get your hands on than the last Horcrux. Not bad for a bunch of muggles.

Did you know? Live owls featured in early preview performances, but a decision was made to remove them after one was reported to have escaped during a performance.
