With a date set for Microsoft's long-teased Xbox Series X first-party showcase, we are hoping for some substantial gameplay reveals.

The event, which will give us a look at Microsoft's exclusive titles coming to and being played on the Xbox Series X will be taking place on July 23, at 5pm UK time.

Microsoft confirmed that Halo Infinite is going to feature heavily, most likely leading the show with a chunk of gameplay being revealed for the first time.

The event itself is expected to reveal new games which will also be coming to the current Xbox One, as well as the Series X when it launches later this year.

This showcase will be entirely focused on first-party Xbox Series X games, much like how PlayStation's big June reveal did for the PS5.

Aside from Halo, we are also hoping to get a look at Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, the oft-rumoured Fable revival or sequel and a brand new IP from Rare – Everwild.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2

This was first shown off as something of a tech demo when the Xbox Series X was first officially revealed in 2019.

Inspired by Norse mythology and Celtic culture, the game follows Senua, a Pict warrior who attempted to rescue the soul of her dead lover from the goddess Hela.

Senua suffers from a form of psychosis and a lot of her journey is actually a metaphor for her struggle with this condition, which was branded as a curse by her former tribe,

Considering how we haven't heard anything new from this game since it was first revealed, now might be the best time for us to be getting some actual gameplay but this might just be wishful thinking.

Fable 4

At the moment, Playground Games has been at the centre of rumours regarding a revival of the beloved Fable series.

One of the most important Xbox exclusives, which first launched in 2004 and has subsequently seen more titles come to PC, is definitely something fans have been calling for now for a long time.

A recent Twitter account is attributed to all but confirming that this game is in the works. The series, while praised to no end, failed to deliver anything better than the first game with its sequels, which ultimately lead to the games fading into obscurity after Fable 3 was released in 2010.

Everwild

While there is a trailer for this game, there really isn't much explaining what it actually is.

It does look super pretty, but all we have to go off at the moment is this official description on the Microsoft store: "Introducing Everwild, a brand new IP from Rare. Unique and unforgettable experiences await in a natural and magical world."

You can watch the trailer below:

We hope that this event will go a long way in showing the capabilities of the new Xbox, especially considering how impressive the PS5 gameplay event was last month.

Both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are expected to be released later this year.
