Survival tactics

Frank Khalfoun’s woman-in-peril epic certainly cuts the mustard if you don’t mind blood and gore. It has Rachel Nichols staying late at the office on Christmas Eve faced by Wes Bentley’s maniacal security officer. First, he sees to it that her car doesn’t work when she tries to leave. Then he locks the building so the taxi she has ordered can’t get to her. The girl knows she must get out or die.

P2 means Parking Level Two and the film is largely shot within its dark confines. Nichols, dressed only in a chemise, gives a performance the late Hazel Court would certainly have admired. She’s a real mess by the end. But the mad security man is, happily, in an even worse state. I have to say it is pretty good film-making even if not quite my cup of poisoned tea.
