Overcoming all the odds

Tómas Gislason's film follows the vicissitudes of the crack Danish-owned cycling team in the 2004 Tour de France.

They were coached by Bjarne Riis, a former winner who cajoled them through the pain and injury barriers to achieve a respectable place in the final standings.

The skilfully shot documentary is a kind of Kelly's Heroes of the cycling world, showing how the various riders coped with one of the toughest tests in athletics.

Not surprisingly, not all of them did.
