Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar may have finally driven a stake into the heart of her character in the hit TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Gellar, 25, made her name as the kickboxing heroine who fights the forces of evil in dry-ice-filled graveyards, but has long been rumoured to be close to drawing the curtains on the character.
Ms Gellar said: "It's important for me to go out on top. I don't want to be part of a show that runs for eight years only for people to say, 'That should have ended years ago'." Gellar's success in the film version of Scooby Doo may have led her to focus on a movie career.
