The influence of London’s Eighties club scene on fashion is celebrated in an exhibition opening this week at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

It explores how underground club nights such as Taboo and pop-culture tribes from Goths to New Romantics transformed fashion. Ninety outfits by designers such as John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, and Katharine Hamnett will be on display. Eighties stars including members of Duran Duran, Gary Kemp, and Toyah Willcox are expected at tonight’s private viewing.

Club to Catwalk: London Fashion in the 1980s, runs from Wednesday to February 16, admission £5; vam.ac.uk
