Oil adds to gains on supply squeeze talk

11 April 2012

THE surge in oil prices continued today as traders bet the economic slump is easing and supplies will be squeezed.

In London, oil jumped $1.22 to $67.74, almost double the $35 reached in March.

Analysts say the sliding dollar is also a factor behind oil's rise because the commodity is priced in that currency.

Oil was up 96 cents at $67.27 in New York.
