AIDSfree appeal: Under the hammer – a day to savour at historic Christie’s

Kiran Randhawa10 December 2018

Christie's is offering a guided tour of art followed by a private three-course lunch for 10 in its historic headquarters in our Christmas appeal auction.

The top bidder and nine friends will be shown around the headquarters of the leading art business in St James’s by one of its experts, then adjourn to the boardroom for lunch with fine wines and champagne.

The event will be on a weekday and must be booked by October 31, 2019.

Also on offer in the auction are two tickets to Sir Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, as well as a limited-edition photograph by Terry O’Neill and artist David Studwell of the singer at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Theatre lovers can bid for top tickets for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical Hamilton, while other highlights from the lots include a toy hamper from Harrods and a football shirt signed by Tottenham Hotspur players.

Proceeds from the auction will go to our AIDSfree appeal, which in conjunction with the Elton John AIDS Foundation aims to get all of those with HIV on treatment and eventually create an Aids-free future.

It will support projects in London, Nairobi, Atlanta, Kiev, Delhi and Maputo.

Medicines can now enable those living with HIV to have full and fulfilling lives, and also ensure they cannot pass on the virus.

Through UK Aid Match the UK Government will double public donations up to £2m.

The auction will close at 10pm on Thursday.

You can bid on the auction lots at www.givergy.com/charity/aidsfree.
